Access Statement for Rhododendron House Bed and Breakfast
Rhododendron House Bed and Breakfast provides Bed and Breakfast accommodation in Lyme Regis, Dorset. The accommodation is in an attractively renovated Edwardian House. The house offers three rooms with an additional room when required). The dining room is on the ground floor. There is a garden for all to enjoy.
There is a No Smoking policy for the whole property but a designated area is available in the garden if required.
The access statement is provided on the web and is available on request in printed form.
Local Public Transport is available into Lyme Regis with the bus stop a short way from the house. The main line train station is in Axminster, 4 miles away with taxis or bus to bring you to Lyme Regis
Transport can be arranged from the station by prior appointment.
For those less able, it must be noted that there are steps into the property and that Lyme is very hilly. The sea front however is on the flat and there is disabled parking available in Lyme Regis near the sea front. We are happy to store any disabled scooters undercover. Lyme Regis can certainly be enjoyed by all!
We also offer to pick people up tired from their journey from either Lyme or Axminster station if we are available.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
There is on site car parking on a tarmac drive with direct access to the front door. (No carrying bags miles!)
Bicycles can be stored in the garage
There are no speed bumps, traffic calming measures or barriers on the premises.
The driveway is lit until late at night
Booking in time is 4pm but guests can arrange an earlier or later time before arriving
There are seven steps (with hand rails both sides) into the house and a further internal flight of stairs to the rooms. The front door is 900mm. All areas leading to the entrance are well lit at night until all guests are in when lighting is reduced.

The hall/dining area has a wooden floor with large Axminster flat pile rug
The upstairs bedrooms are reached by a straight run of stairs with two handrails. The stairs are wooden painted.
Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc
The only public room is the hall/dining room,
Access to the garden is through this room
We endeavour to cater for special diets and allergies if we are advised of them in advance and use local produce where possible.
There are mini fridges in each of the three rooms and we are happy to share our main fridge and offer space for the goodies bought locally, cheeses, fish from the fishing trips etc!
Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas and bathrooms
There are three main rooms on the first floor, The Lori room is an ensuite with a shower (900x900cm) thermostatic power shower and bath with good access all doors are just over 900mm wide. This bedroom is available with a 4’6’’ double bed. The second bedroom, the Kimono room is a small double (4’ 6’’ bed) used for single occupancy also. The third bedroom, the Hawthorne room, has a king size bed and a double futon. A bathroom lies between the Kimono and Hawthorne room and can be used by either.
The bathroom has a shower in a cradle above the bath which is 1700mm by 800mm and bath with good access all doors are just over 900mm wide.
The third bedroom, the kimono, is available with a 4’6’’ double bed.
A ‘z’ bed is available to set up in any room
All rooms have chairs, coffee making facilities, hairdryer, mini fridge, television and appropriate storage. A microwave is available on request as is a travel cot.
There is a further ensuite room one floor up used by families when needed
All bedrooms have wooden floors with large rug.
All bedrooms can be well lit.
There is a No Smoking policy for the whole premises.
Service dogs can be accepted by prior arrangement.
